New rig, courtesy of the folks at Aceco Sports Group/K-Edge in Boise. Simply put the best bike I have ever owned by a wide margin. Went on my regular uphill training ride and shaved one and a half minutes off my previous best time (56:20 vs. 57:50) and I am nowhere near in as good a shape as I was when I did that last best time. That’s what a 21.1 lbs (with pedals) 29” CF rocket will do. That Orbea is STIFF but comfortable, handles like a 26er but rolls like the 29er it is. Everything on that bike is spectacular but what takes the prize is the beyond awesome Ki2 electronic shifting system. Designed and developed by the Aceco folks from the road Di2 gruppo. It just works amazingly well. You shift just because. Anyway, what’s up with a white bike and a white car, both spectcularly fast (save for the driver/rider)? Coincidence? I think not.
