You know my fascination with TED. This short presentation (4 minutes) is really disturbing. I had always wondered if press coverage in the US was dumbed down and focused on the US to a fault because that’s what the (mostly dumb uneducated) public demanded or because the mainstream press outlets were deciding on what their audience public should see and therefore causing them to become dumb and uneducated about world affairs. There is a slide in this presentation that seems to support the former claim. I am still not 100% convinced that there is no pandering by the media to the baser instincts in the US public though…
