He is the Hindu god of wisdom and the remover of obstacles (to summarize). No, I am not a close follower of Hinduism but I think we all need to have things to help us understand and relate to life and the world around us and “father-figures”, even Indian elephants with a broken tusk, are as good as anything to help the process.
