No way I could ride this without turning into a quivering blob of sheer terror.

Dave Barry: How your taxes turn into manure . →
Dave Barry is funny. Period. I remember reading one of his essays about Japan on my way to Japan for the first time in 1994 and crying laughing. That was BEFORE having been there. It was even funnier the second time around after my first trip there.
Tired after a fun night catching up with Dave who’s in town for 3 days for his movie’s sound edit.

Really intriguing. If I owned a house, I would seriously consider adding something like that.

I remember reading about this artist in 1994 in an early issue of Wired magazine (when it was still independent and oh so cool) and totally falling under the spell of his art. I hope you dig it as much as I did (and still do).
The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.

I really like this site and the randomness about these glimpses into people’s lives.
Usually I wouldn’t post a cute puppy video but this guy is precious and I wanted to test the RealPlayer video download option. Seems to work…

Mmmmmm…I’m going to try these (assuming that there is no aspartame used to sweeten them) and would love to have a go at the mint cocktail and that soy-based vodka that is mentioned).
At Big O Tires for a new set for the Navigator. Gorgeous day in LA. Hot, blue skies. Ride later in the day…

Just picked my bike frame. The painter did an excellent job. It looks sweet!
I want to go back to the Bonneville Speed Week in August…it was such a blast 2 years ago. I miss it.
My freshly powdercoated commuter bike (old single-speed) is ready! Hope I can make it to the bike store in time to pick it up tonight.

Great analysis that oh so supports the point I was making earlier in my Twitter post. You gotta think and analyze people! But I guess that’s way over most Middle-American minds and definitely too much work for the mainstream press pundits (with the two exceptions made in a previous post).

OK, I take back (a little) what I just Twittered about. But we need more Chris Matthews’s (and Keith Olbermann’s) in mainstream media.
No independent thinking or reality checks. Thankfully there are many blogs picking up the slack and doing the heavy thinking and lifting.
The headlines today about last night’s PA results seem to be lifted directly from the candidates’ press releases (especially Hillary’s).
It is depressing to see how biased and “spun” reporting by the major news outlets has been regarding the Democratic primary campaign.
I will definitely try this out next time I have a...
(lifetd from the UrbanDaddy newsletter I receive weekly) Any reputable Casanova needs an arsenal of impressive date spots at the ready. And when you find a new one that mixes the exclusive (one table, and one table only) with the casual (outdoors, with couches by a crackling fire), all the better. Now taking reservations: Table ONE, literally offering a one-of-a-kind experience beginning May...

Cute.
Can’t wait to get all “dressed up” and ride to work! Plus to be able to say I am wearing knickers titillates me to no end!
Got my Swobo knickers in the mail today (http://tinyurl.com/58u5ww). They look great, are super well made and fit really well. And my shoes!
Disappointed but not surprised about PA returns. What a speech again!

Damn, this is an idea, or close to it, that I had a few years ago: super exclusive pieces made to order/customized for a boutique (and website) that would sell only a few a month and do that through word-of-mouth and one-to-one marketing. They are selling more pieces than I would have (I was thinking more in the single digits or even one-offs) but I liek what they are doing (I feel validated ;-))...
C’mon AP polls, close already!
